Barcelona (must-see, utterly incomparable city)

There’s something for everyone in this magnificent city. If you’re a food lover then the city has a total of 20 Michelin stars, and if what you are looking for is culture, you’ve got an unlimited choice of beautiful buildings and events. Add to this clean, urban beaches, world-class nightlife and so much great shopping you won’t know where to begin.

Where to Stay:

What to do:

The architecture of this city is so interesting and enjoyable that you could literally walk all day while shopping and eating and never get bored. Shop at the Paseig de Gracias, stroll along the beach in Barceloneta, visit the Picasso Museum, enjoy a soccer game at the FC Barcelona and party at night! The possibilities are endless.

Cannes-Nice (the French Riviera)

With its amazing Mediterranean weather (estimated 300 sunny days per year), beautiful sceneries, incredible beaches and rich history, the French Riviera has established itself as one of the most popular places for tourists to visit. Nice is the largest city on the French Riviera with the largest number of inhabitants, it also boasts the 3rd largest airport in France. Cannes is most famous for its association with the rich and famous, its luxurious hotels and restaurants and several festivals, including the world-renowned Cannes Film Festival.

The Four Seasons Du Cap Ferrat is simply spectacular! The epitome of luxury and elegance, the Four Seasons Du Cap Ferrat has hosted prominent individuals; Elizabeth Taylor, Ernest Hemingway and Winston Churchill to name a few.

What to do:

The French Riviera has one of the most beautiful Mediterranean beaches! Juan David recommends a stroll through La Croisette, which stretches along the shore and is one of the highlights of Cannes. Here you will also find an array of high-end shops, bars and restaurants. If you are an art and/or religion buff, you cannot miss the Musée Marc Chagall! This permanent collection is the biggest public collection of works by Marc Chagall. There are plenty of museums, parks, markets and culinary experiences to be had in the French Riviera.

Amsterdam (the Venice of the North)

Amsterdam is the Netherlands’ capital, known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades, legacies of the city’s 17th-century Golden Age.

Where to Stay:

The best hotel in the city is the Conservatorium. It forms 1 part of a 3 hotel conglomerate, Café Royal in London and Lutetia in Paris. Juan David has stated that it may be one of the most beautiful hotels he has stayed at, ultra-modern in a building that dates back to the 1600’s and used to be the main bank of the city. It is located in the Museum Quarter where you will find the Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum. It’s also walking distance to all of the high-end shopping and 10 minutes from Dam Square.

What to do:

With world-class museums, quirky festivals, theatre, live music, laid-back bars and delightful restaurants, there’s never a shortage of things to do in Amsterdam! Along with the aforementioned museums, shopping and Dam Square, Juan David also highly recommends the Anne Frank Museum and the Heineken Experience.
