Exploring Thailand with our Senior VP!

Our Senior VP, Carlos Edery, had the pleasure of exploring Thailand last month. He and his wife had an amazing time! He’s shared a summary of his trip with tips on where to stay and what to do...

Krabi
– Perfect, Relaxing Holiday Destination –

Located on southern Thailand’s west coast, Krabi is well-known for being an area of exceptional natural beauty famous for its glorious islands.

WHERE TO STAY

Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve is a 5-star sanctuary where the mountains meet the sea. It’s perfect for couples and honeymooners, although Carlos did come across a few families looking to spend some down time with the little ones. Does not have a beach, but has a fantastic pool with amazing views where you can spend your day if you prefer to stay at the hotel.

WHAT TO DO

Carlos suggests to taking a boat to tour the lime stone islands in the middle of the ocean. The views are jaw-dropping and the snorkeling is among the best he has ever experienced.

Chiang Rai
– Quirky Artistic City –

Located in a mountainous province of northern Thailand near the borders of Laos and Myanmar. Situated in the Golden Triangle, Chiang Rai is home to an incredible number of beautiful temples – from historic jeweled monuments to unusual contemporary artworks.

WHERE TO STAY

Interact with rescued elephants, explore spectacular mountain trails or bamboo jungles and unwind in luxury tents at the Four Seasons Tented Camps Golden Triangle. All accommodations are luxury tents with incredible views which give it a very safari feel and the food and dining experience is extraordinary.

WHAT TO DO

Don’t miss breakfast with the elephants, it was one of Carlos’ favorite experiences—phenomenally unique!

Definitely visit the epic White Temple, otherwise known as Wat Rong Khun. It’s a genuinely breathtaking sight. Another two incredibly stunning temples are the Black House and the Blue Temple—both a must-see!

Bangkok
– Land of Smiles –

Thailand’s capital is a fascinating, exciting and incredible city to visit! Be it nightclubs, rooftop restaurants, extravagant luxury hotels or mega malls, Bangkok never ceases to amaze.

WHERE TO STAY

Carlos couldn’t choose just one luxury hotel, below are his recommendations.

The Peninsula – the ultimate urban resort experience with spectacular service and views of The Chao Phraya River and The Bangkok Skyline by day and night.

Mandarin Oriental – the first five-star hotel on the banks of the river, offering a fabulous location and acclaimed dining.

Capella Bangkok (opening 2020) – promises to be one of the best options in Bangkok when staying by the river.

Rosewood Bangkok – visually stunning, vertical architectural marvel in downtown. It’s boutique luxury in the heart of the business district.

WHAT TO DO

You simply cannot miss the spectacular Grand Palace! Built in 1782, it was once the home of the Thai King, the Royal court and the administrative seat of government.

Now, Carlos knows this may seem like an odd recommendation, but the Iconsiam Mall is more of a destination than a mall and it is pretty darn impressive! Known as the “Mother of All Malls”, it is one of the biggest malls in all of Asia and Bangkok’s biggest new attraction.
